The Berlin Club Commission and the Senate Department for Culture are jointly seeking a collective to transform a building at the former Tegel Airport into a party location. This announcement was made in a press release by the Club Commission on Thursday. Collectives can apply for consideration from June 9th to June 28th.
The selection of the winning collective will be determined by an independent jury. The project in 2023 will be financed with 80,000 euros by the state-owned foundation for cultural education and consulting, along with its subsidiary, the Kulturraum gGmbH. They will also coordinate the search for a suitable collective in collaboration with the Club Commission.
This pilot project focuses on the outdoor areas of the old cargo canteen, situated on the former airport’s runway. These 3,747 square meters will be used for performances, film screenings, workshops, theater productions, and open-air parties. In the long term, the building itself will also be utilized for events and parties.

This includes having competencies in areas such as diversity, anti-discrimination, and awareness.
